ST. CHARLES, Mo. - Lindenwood beach volleyball (11-9, 3-3 OVC) earned a 5-0 sweep over McKendree (3-12) on Saturday as the Lions celebrated their four seniors at Evans Courts. The Lions were a perfect 2-0 at home this season as they enter the final Ohio Valley Conference weekend of the season winning their last three matches.
Rebecca Janke and
Lexi Menne started the afternoon off playing their best match as a pair to date. The duo won in two sets winning by scores of 21-7 and 21-5.
Gabby Belcher and
Aubrey Sheppard followed that by winning in two sets by scores of 21-14 and 21-16.
In the three pairs,
Abby VanBuskirk and
Taylor Gentemann made a statement winning in two sets by scores of 21-4 and 21-6. It marked the first time this season that two pairs for Lindenwood allowed less than 10 points in each set.
Nyah Wilson and
Katie Bockhorst continued the sweep in the two pairs winning by scores of 21-6 and 21-13. The one pair of
Abby Jacobs and
Annalie McWhorter rounded out the day with a two set victory by scores of 21-14 and 21-12.
