With the Women's Rugby World Cup kicking off next month in England, two members of the Lindenwood Women's Rugby team will be representing the United States of America's National team for the tournament.
Freda Tafuna and McKenzie Hawkins will be apart of the 32 player squad that features 18 Forwards and 14 Backs.
Tafuna, the current Captain of the Lions and back-to-back MA Sorensen Award winner, made the team as a Forward while Hawkins, an Alum who played at Lindenwood from 2015-2019, will be on Team USA as a Back. McKenzie has also won the MA Sorensen Award in 2018, making her and Freda a dangerous duo.
Team USA will begin their quest for the Cup when pool play begins on August 22 when they take on England at 1:30 p.m. Their other two pool play matches will take place on August 30 against Australia at 1:30 p.m. and September 6 versus Samoa at 7:30 a.m. All three pool play matches can be streamed on Paramount+.
