On Wednesday, it was announced that Chanel Honeywell of the Lindenwood track and field team earned OVC Female Track Athlete of the Week honors.

Honeywell had a strong showing at the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational in Louisville, Ky. last week. The Jamaica native tied a season-best and her PR in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.52, which was good for sixth place.

Competing against some of the top schools in the country, Honeywell finished the 200 with a time of 23.86, which was a top 50 time in all of Division I and the best time in the OVC. She also led off the 4x400 relay and helped the team set a new season-best by nearly 10 seconds at 3:57.29.

Honeywell and the rest of the Lions will be back in action this weekend, splitting up and heading to the Bearcat Invitational in Maryville, Mo. and the Mizzou Invitational in Columbia.
