On Wednesday, the Ohio Valley Conference announced that Lilly Peters of the Lindenwood track and field team has been named Field Athlete of the Week following her efforts at the Cougar Classic this past weekend.

Peters, a native of Hamburg, Iowa, set the school record in the Javelin Throw at 47.58m, which was also a personal best by nearly two meters. The throw helped her finish in first place in a field of 16.

She also placed top 10 in two other events, taking third in the Discus Throw with a mark of 37.46m, and ninth in Hammer Throw at 38.01m. The mark in the hammer was a personal best.

Overall, the Lions finished in third place at the Cougar Classic, setting 31 personal and season bests at the meet.

Peters and the rest of the Lions will be back in action this weekend at the Little Rock Invitational, April 17-18 in Little Rock, Ark.
