Men's Golf Finishes Fourth At Missouri Western Invitational

The Lindenwood men's golf team took on its future MIAA competitors this week at the Missouri Western Invitational. The Lions had success with a fourth-place finish.

Lindenwood opened the tournament with a 300 and was in sixth-place. On day two, the Lions had two golfer break par as they shot 590. That score was the second-best on the day and moved the team up two spots in the standing. 

Central Missouri won the MIAA scoring event with a 567. Washburn was second and Missouri Western was third. The order behind Lindenwood was Missouri Southern, Truman, Southwest Baptist, Ft. Hays State, Lincoln, and Pittsburg State.

Morgan Leigh led Lindenwood by shooting a 146 and he tied for 11th overall. He shot a 75 on day one and had a one-under 71 for the second round.

Erik Isacsson and Patrick Harrell also had top-20 showings. Isacsson led Lindenwood in the first round with a 72 and finished with a 147, tying for 16th-place. Harrell paced the squad in the second round with a 70 and had a total of 149, tying for 20th.

Richard Docherty was fourth on the team with a 151 which tied for 26th. Matt Loewen rounded out the team with a 153 which was good for a 36th overall finish.
