The Lindenwood men's golf team sent two teams to Cleveland, Miss. for the Derrall Foreman Invitational and both placed in the top five. The top finishing team finished in third place nine strokes behind the top team, Delta State. The second set of Lion golfers finished in fifth place with a score of +15.
Lindenwood's first squad started off the tournament with a first round score of 293, which was five shots behind the leaders. In the final round the Lions shot the same score for a total of 586. The second team opened with a 307 in the first round and closed with a 284, the lowest round of any team in the tournament.
Leading the way individually for the both squads was Richard Docherty who finished in fifth place with a score of even par. Paul Colditz also finished in the top 10 at sixth place with a score of +1. Other top finishers were Brad Blair and Greg MacAulay who finished tied for 16th.
Next up for the Lions is the Southwest Baptist Invitational in Bolivar, Mo. October 3.
