The Lindenwood men's golf team began its 2011 season with a third place finish at the Missouri Intercollegiate tournament at the Lake of the Ozarks. The Lions finished with a total score of 923 which was 15 shots behind winner William Woods. Central Missouri finished second just seven shots ahead of the Lions.
The Lions shot rounds of 304, 307, and 312 at the Club at Porto Cima Golf Course. After round one Lindenwood was just one shot behind William Woods.
Individually, Brad Blair led the Lions with an 11th place finish after shooting a total of 231. After a round one 73 Blair was just three strokes off the lead, but a third round 80 knocked back to his 11th place finish. Greg MacAulay was just behind Blair at 13th with a total score 232. Oscar Isacsson and Richard Docherty also finished in the top 20 with scores of 233 and 235 respectively.
Next up for the Lions is the Pittsburgh State Invitational in Pittsburgh, Kan. on September 12.
