The Lindenwood men's golf team finished second in the UNK Fall Invitational hosted by the University of Nebraska-Kearney. Following last week's Arch Cup this was consecutive second place finishes for the Lions.
The Invitational featured 13 MIAA schools in a three round event over two days.
Jake Smock had back-to-back impressive tournament showings. Coming off his first place finish at The Arch Cup, Smock shot a 212 and finished the event tied for second.
The Lions, as a team, shot a score of 869, 14 strokes behind the host and champion of the event Nebraska-Kearney. The 869 was 16 shots better than third place Fort Hays State.
Lindenwood finished with three golfers in the top 15 overall. Ryan Dyck finished in a tie for seventh with a three day total of 218. Garrett Blair posted a 220 score landing him in a tie for 13th.
Next up for the Lions is the NSU Men's Golf Classic September 23-24 in Broken Arrow, Okla.
