The Lindenwood men's golf team kicked off its 2014 spring season with a 10
th place finish at the Las Vegas Desert Classic last weekend.
Jake Smock was the highest individual finisher for the Lions placing 20
th.
As a team, Lindenwood shot a two-round total of 608 which was just five strokes behind Missouri-St. Louis who finished ninth. West Florida won the event shooting a total of 585.
The Lions shot a team total of 312 in round one and improved that score in the final round by 16 strokes. The 296 in round two was the fifth lowest of the final day.
Smock led the Lions shooting a 77 and 73 for a tournament total of 150, which was eight strokes behind the winner of the event.
Corbin Adams was the next highest finisher for Lindenwood finishing just one stroke behind Smock. Adams opened the tournament with a 79 then improved in day two by seven strokes.
Greg MacAulay and
Ryan Dyck also competed and finished in 62
nd and 82
nd respectively.
Lindenwood will be back in action March 17
th at the Capitol Plaza Invitational in Topeka, Kan.
