The Lindenwood men's golf team placed ninth at the Holiday Inn Express Classic in St. Joseph, Mo. The three-round tournament stretched over two-days and included 20 competing teams, wrapping up play on Tuesday afternoon.
The Lions completed the three-round event with a total team score of 906, placing them five strokes behind Henderson State and a seventh-place finish. Central Missouri won the tournament with a total team score of 871. Lindenwood completed the first round two rounds of play with scores of 297 and 296, respectively. However, the team completed round three with a score of 313.
Koke Edo Maeso posted the highest individual score for Lindenwood, finishing the tournament t-22, after firing a 223. Edo Maeso opened play on Monday by shooting a 75, which he then followed up with a 71 and 77 over the remaining two rounds. Edo Maeso ended the tournament with 10 birdies, tying him for the seventh-most amongst the 100 competing golfers along with teammate
Ryan Dyck. Dyck was the next highest finisher for the Lions with a total score of 227, placing t-30th. Right behind Dyck were fellow Lions
Yente Van Doren and
Brad Currier, each posting scores of 228 tying them for 36th place. Also competing for Lindenwood was
Garrett Blair who finished the tournament t-91st.
The Lions will conclude their fall season on October 26-27 at the Payne Stewart Invitational from Branson, Mo.
