The Lindenwood men's golf team placed seventh at the Payne Stewart Invitational from Branson, Mo. The two-round tournament stretched over two-days and included 12 competing teams, wrapping up play on Tuesday afternoon.
The Lions completed the two-round event with a total team score of 609, placing them six strokes behind Midwestern State and a third-place finish. Central Missouri won the tournament with a total team score of 573. Lindenwood began play on Monday with a team score of 305, which they improved upon during day two shooting a 304.
Yente Van Doren paced the Lions, firing a 143 landing him t-4th place overall amongst the 68 competing golfers. Van Doren began the tournament on Monday with a team-low score of 68, which he followed up with a 75 on day two. Van Doren ended play having recorded 25 pars and six birdies. Next up for Lindenwood was
Ryan Dyck who shot rounds of 78 and 75, respectively. Dyck's total of 153 placed him 30th overall. Right behind Dyck was Koke Edo Maeso who completed the tournament with a total score of 154 and finished t-31st. Also competing for the Lions were
Ryan Amos and
Brad Currier. Amos ended play t-50th after shooting a 161, while Currier wrapped up play t-58th after totaling a 163.
The Lions competed in five tournaments during their fall season, recording two top-five finishes. Lindenwood will tee off their spring season on February 28th with the Las Vegas Desert Classic from Las Vegas, Nev.
