The Lindenwood men's golf team completed its third tournament of the 2015 fall season, placing sixth at the Brickyard Invitational in Indianapolis, Ind. The two-day tournament featured nine competing teams and wrapped up on Tuesday afternoon.
The Lions completed the three-round event with a total team score of 896, placing them seven strokes behind University of Missouri-St. Louis and a third-place finish. Lindenwood completed the first round of play with a team score of 304 strokes. The Lions improved upon that mark in each of the next two rounds, posting consecutive scores of 296 to close out the tournament.
Ryan Dyck led the way for Lindenwood, finishing the tournament t-7th with a score of 220. Dyck opened play on Monday by shooting a 72, which he then followed up with a 75 and 73 over the remaining two rounds. Dyck ended the tournament with 11 birdies, tying him for third-most amongst the 47 competing golfers. The next highest finisher for the Lions was
Yente Van Doren who shot a 221 for the tournament, placing him t-9th. Van Doren fired a team-best round of 70 during the second-round of play. Not far behind Dyck and Van Doren was
Jorge Jeronimo Edo Maseo, shooting a 223 and finishing play t-13th. Also competing for Lindenwood were
Brad Currier who finished t-34th and
Garrett Blair who finished 40th.
The Lions next fall tournament will be at the Holiday Inn Express Classic in St. Joseph, Mo. on October 12th – 13th.
