The Lindenwood men's golf team finished tied for ninth-place at the Midwest Regional. The two-round tournament was played at Fox Run Golf Club and was hosted by Missouri-St. Louis. The Midwest Regional tournament featured 26 competing teams and 130 individual golfers.
Lindenwood opened the tournament with a first round score of 312, and was tied for 14th-place at the end of day one. Lindenwood improved its score by eight strokes during the second round of play, finishing the final 18 holes with a score of 304. The Lions two-round total score of 612 tied them with Missouri Southern for ninth-place. Lindenwood finished two strokes behind eighth -place Illinois-Springfield. Ferris State won the tournament by three strokes over second-place Missouri-St. Louis.
Juan Torrente Corbett finished tied for 17th-place and was the top-performer for Lindenwood following his score of 151. Torrente began the tournament with a first round score of 77, before firing a 74 in round two.
Yente Van Doren tied for 30th-place, after posting scores of 74 and 79, for a two-round total of 153.
Christian Argyros and
Brad Currier each tied for 57th-place, finishing with identical scores of 157. Currier had a low score of 73 during his second round.
Ryan Dyck also competed for the Lions, finishing tied for 85th-place.
Lindenwood will conclude the fall portion of its schedule on October 17-18 at the Lindenwood Invitational. The tournament will take place at the Missouri Bluffs Golf Club in St. Charles, Mo.
