The Lindenwood men's golf team finished in second-place at the MIAA Tournament from Tiffany Greens Golf Club in Kansas City, Mo. The three-round, three-day tournament featured 11 teams and 55 competing golfers with play wrapping up on Wednesday afternoon. Lindenwood has now finished in the top-five in seven of its 10 tournaments this season, including four consecutive top-five finishes.
The Lions began play on Monday with an opening round score of 306, sitting in third-place after 18-holes. Lindenwood then posted its best score of the tournament during the second-round, shooting a 289, the second-lowest score of the season for the Lions. Following a third-round score of 296, Lindenwood landed in second-place for the tournament, one-stroke in front of third-place Central Missouri. The Lions finished nine-strokes behind tournament champions, Central Oklahoma.
Ryan Dyck was the top-finisher for Lindenwood, completing the tournament tied for fourth-place. Dyck ended the tournament with a three-round score of 219, including a team-low score of 69 during the second-round. Dyck had the second-most birdies during the tournament with 13 en route to his best individual finish of the season.
Koke Edo Maeso finished one-stoke behind Dyck, tying for seventh-place after a three-round score of 220. Edo Maeso also had his best score during the second-round, posting a 70. Edo Maeso, completed play with a team-high 38 pars to go along with his seven birdies.
Yente Van Doren tied for 12th-place, finishing four-strokes behind Edo Maeso, after his three-round score of 224. Van Doren improved his scores each round, posting his best score of 73 during the final round of play.
Juan Torrente and
Garrett Blair tied for 27th-place, shooting identical scores of 231.
Lindenwood must now wait until next week to find out if they have been selected to the NCAA tournament field.
