Men’s Golf Competes at Nebraska-Kearney Invitational

The Lindenwood men's golf team finished in 15th-place at the weather shortened Nebraska-Kearney Invitational on Tuesday afternoon. The tournament was held at the Awarii Dunes Golf Club in Axtell, Neb. The two-round tournament featured 20 teams and 105 competing golfers.

The Lions opened the tournament with a first round score of 307, tying them for 16th-place after 18 holes of play. Lindenwood bested its first round score by three strokes in the second round, shooting a 304, finishing the shortened tournament in 15th-place. The Lions finished two strokes behind 14th-place Lincoln and three strokes behind 13th-place Henderson State.

Nebraska-Kearney won the tournament by one stroke over second-place Central Oklahoma, with the two schools posting scores of 583 and 584, respectively.

Yente Van Doren was the top finisher for Lindenwood, tying for 20th-place after shooting a 148. Van Doren posted an opening round 75, followed by a second round score of 73.

The next highest finisher for the Lions was Ryan Dyck, who tied for 49th-place with a score of 153. Dyck followed up his first round 77, with a second round score of 76.

Also competing for Lindenwood were Juan Torrente, Koke Edo Maeso, Brad Currier, and Christian Argyros.

The Lions will next compete in Tulsa, Okla. at the Northeastern State Classic on Sep. 19-20.
