The Lindenwood men's golf team concluded its first ever trip to the NCAA National Tournament on Wednesday afternoon. The Lions completed the tournament in 17th place with a three-round score of 899. Lindenwood ends its 14-tournament season with a program-record scoring average of 293.7 strokes per round.
Lindenwood posted identical scores of 298 during its first and third rounds, while also mixing in a second-round score of 303. With the top eight teams slated to advance to Thursday's quarterfinal round, the Lions finished 18 strokes behind eighth-place Arkansas Tech. Barry finished in first place, holding a three-stroke edge over second-place Florida Southern.
Yente Van Doren led Lindenwood, tying for 26th place overall. Van Doren completed the tournament with a three-round score of 218, and had his best round on Monday when he fired an opening round score of 71.
Juan Torrente tied for 66th place with a total score of 227. Torrente had his best round of 74 on Monday afternoon, and finished the tournament one-under par overall on the par three holes.
Ryan Dyck tied for 80th place, finishing play with a score of 229. Dyck shot a 76 during his first and third rounds.
Alejandro Canazares and
Brad Currier finished separated by one stroke, tying for 94th and 96th place, respectively. Canazres finished the tournament strong with a final round score of 73, including four birdies.
