The Lindenwood men's golf team finished in 12th place at the Central Missouri Invitational on Tuesday afternoon. The three-round tournament was held at Mules National Golf Club in Warrensburg, Mo., and featured 20 teams.
Lindenwood began the tournament with back-to-back scores of 298 during the tournament's first two rounds. The Lions finished the event with a final-round score of 301, landing in sole possession of 12th place. Lindenwood's three-round total score of 897 was two strokes in back of 11th-place, Harding. Arkansas Tech won the tournament with a score of 857, 14 strokes in front of second-place, Central Oklahoma.
Yente Van Doren finished tied for 17th place, the highest individual finish for the Lions. Van Doren had his best round of the tournament on Tuesday, shooting a 72 during the final 18 holes.
Markus Lindgren tied for 36th place, landing four strokes behind Van Doren. Lindgren led Lindenwood with nine birdies during the tournament.
Ville Vakipartra tied for 48th place, while
Alejandro Canazares tied for the 60th spot. Vakipartra had his best score of 72 during the tournament's first round, while Canazares shot a 74 during round two.
Christian Argyros and
Caleb Picker also competed for the Lions.
Lindenwood will next travel to Muskogee, Okla. for the Northeastern State Men's Golf Classic on September 18-19. The tournament will be held at the Muskogee Golf Club.
