The Lindenwood men's golf team played to a sixth-place finish at the NSU Golf Classic on Tuesday afternoon from Muskogee Country Club in Muskogee, Okla. For the second time in three tournaments this season, Yente Van Doren secured a top-five finish, landing in fourth place to lead the Lions.

Lindenwood began the three-round tournament with scores of 291 and 289 on Monday, before shooting a final-round score of 290 on Tuesday. The Lions finished two strokes in back of fifth-place, Southeast Oklahoma State, and six strokes behind Central Missouri and Harding, who each tied for third place. Central Oklahoma won the tournament by five strokes over second-place, Arkansas Tech. Central Oklahoma finished the event with a three-round score of 848.

Van Doren, was Lindenwood's highest finisher for the second time this season, shooting a 209 over his three rounds. Van Doren fired back-to-back rounds of 68 to open the tournament, tied for his lowest mark of the season. Van Doren led the Lions with 12 birdies.

Colton Wyllie tied for 10th place, the highest finish of his collegiate career. Wyllie opened play with consecutive rounds of 72, before posting a final-round score of 70. Wyllie finished four strokes under par on par-five holes during the tournament, and his 11 birdies ranked second on the team.

Markus Lindgren tied for 32nd place, registering a three-round score of 220. Lindgren saved his best performance for the tournament's final round, shooting a 71 over the final 18 holes.

Alejandro Canazares tied for 64th place, while Christian Argyros landed in 81st place. Ville Vakipartra competed as an individual and tied for the 92nd position.

Lindenwood will return to action at the Midwest Regional on October 9-10 in Eureka, Mo. The tournament will be held at the Fox Run Golf Club.
