The Lindenwood men's golf team tied for third-place among the 17 competing teams at the Dave Falconer Classic in Danville, Ark. on Tuesday afternoon.
Markus Lindgren and
Yente Van Doren led the way for the Lions, with each golfer earning a share of second place.
Lindenwood tied for third place with Southeastern Oklahoma, as both teams wrapped up play with identical scores of 588. Oklahoma City landed in second place, one-stroke in front of both Lindenwood and Southeastern Oklahoma, while host Arkansas Tech won the event by a 16-stroke margin.
Lindgren and Van Doren each completed the two-round event with scores of 143. Both golfers had their best rounds on Tuesday, as Lindgren fired a 71 and Van Doren turned in a final-round 70. For Van Doren the top-two finish was his third of the year, and his second in as many events. Lindgren had his second-highest finish of the season.
Colton Wyllie,
Christian Argyros, and
Brad Currier all finished within one stroke of each other. Wyllie posted a two-round score of 150, aided by a final round score of 70, to tie for 36th place. Argyros and Currier each tied for 39th place with scores of 151.
Alejandro Canazares also competed for the Lions, tying for 92nd-place.
Lindenwood will resume play at the NSIC Preview in Smithville, Mo. on March 25-26.
