The Lindenwood men's golf team finished first at the NSIC Spring Preview in Smithville, Mo. on Sunday. The first-place finish was the third of the season for the Lions.

Lindenwood began the two-round tournament with a first-round score of 293, the lowest single-round score of any team during the tournament. The Lions posted a 298 during the final 18 holes of play, and finished the event with a two-round score of 591. Lindenwood landed eight strokes in front of second-place, Minnesota State. The Lions were one of just two teams to finish with a score under 600.

Yente Van Doren was the top finisher for Lindenwood, posting a two-round score of 145, tying him for fourth place. Van Doren finished one stroke over par, and has now registered five separate top-five finishes this season, accomplishing the feat in each of his last three tournaments.

Brad Currier shot a 146 during his two rounds, landing one stroke behind Van Doren in sole possession of sixth place. Currier shot Lindenwood's lowest single-round score of 71 during round one of the tournament.

Markus Lindgren tied for seventh place following a score of 147. Lindgren posted scores of 72 and 75 during his two rounds of play.

Christian Argyros and Ville Vakipartra were separated by just one stroke, with scores of 153 and 154, respectively. Colton Wyllie also competed for the Lions, shooting a 157 over his two rounds. During the tournament's second round, Wyllie recorded the first hole-in-one of his career on the 149-yard 16th hole.

Lindenwood will resume play on April 9-10 when it hosts the Lindenwood Invitational at the Missouri Bluffs Golf Club.
