"I take tremendous pride for this accomplishment, and we are justifiably proud that Taylor Hansen and Andreas Madsen won first place at Nationals," Head Coach Mark Wilson said. "But, we use an uncommon definition for what constitutes winning. Titles are nice, but winning for us means setting a new standard of excellence and perception for "the sport of billiards." All too often, billiards gets painted with the same brush as those who play the game and only hold self-interest. The 'sport' of pool is played on nine-foot tables by athletes that train physically and mentally for the sake of skill development to play high performance pool. The goal of the Lindenwood billiards program is to establish the highest standards of excellence by improving the attitudes, image, and respect for billiards through example. Currently, we have 28 team members who have all contributed to the triumph at the 2018 ACUI Collegiate 9-Ball Championships. We truly are a team and family and each member earns their place every day."
The victories by Hansen and Madsen extend a streak of Lindenwood players winning both the men's and women's individual collegiate championships to five straight years.Â
