For the sixth straight season, the Lions claimed both the men's and women's individual titles at the ACUI Collegiate 9-Ball Championships concluded Saturday in Champaign – Urbana, Illinois.

Andreas Madsen went smoothly through the men's bracket, winning all of his matches by decisive margins.  Coming from Denmark, the Lindenwood sophomore has now won the title two straight years. 
Fellow Lion Robbie Patrick played well to finish third at the competition with his only two losses coming to Rahul Vithani from Indiana University, who took second. 

Lindenwood freshman April Larson earned the women's title by defeating her teammate sophomore Taylor Hansen in the final match.  Hansen was the defending champion from the 2018 event.

Head Coach Mark Wilson was complimentary of both players.

"I can never tell which of our two girls is better between April and Taylor," he said.  "They both grew up in pool playing families in Minnesota and have battled each other for the duration of their competitive lives.  We call them "Thunder and Lightning" amongst our team."

The ACUI Collegiate 9-Ball Championships wrapped up the season for the billiards team.
