The Lindenwood men's golf team finished 13th in the Missouri State Intercollegiate this week in Springfield, Mo. As a team, the Lions compiled a 911, four shots back of 12th place.
OVERVIEW
Sil Beyers got off to a hot start, sitting in a tie for ninth after an opening round 71. Beyers played solid golf across the first 18, using the help of 13 pars, including eight on the back nine as he fired a one-under during the final nine holes.
The Lions shot a 304 on the second day, improving their play by one stroke from the opening round. During the second round, four Lindenwood golfers shot and 80 or better, paced by a one-over 73 from
Matthew Frith. Frith compiled four birdies during the second round. The Sydney, Australia native carded the teams only eagle after scoring a three on the par-5 fifth in round three.
Frith and
Tyler May led Lindenwood with three birdies across the final round as the Lions compiled a 302 as a team during the final round. May fired an impressive one-under 70 in round three, moving him up 12 spots on the leader board as he finished tied for 46th.
