The Lindenwood men's golf team took seventh place at the Big Blue Intercollegiate in Hermitage, Tenn. The Lions shot a 857 as a team (285, 286, 286) to finish three strokes back of sixth place.
OVERVIEW
The Lions had a solid opening round, as
Matthew Frith,
Tyler May, and Liam Bentien each shot even par or better during the opening 18. However, that was not to be outdone by
Renato Filho who carded a school record 62 during the second round. To get to that score, Filho registered seven birdies on the front nine to finish nine under on the round.
Filho and Frith continued their strong play in the final round, each finishing under par. Frith carded a 69 during the last 18, his second lowest round of the year. That score vaulted him eight spots up the leaderboard, placing him 23
rd. Filho recorded a final round 70 as finished in a tie for first overall in the tournament. Â The total score of 206 was his lowest three round tournament score this season.
