The Lindenwood men's golf team finished in a tie for seventh at the SIUE Derek Dolenc Invitational this week in Madison, Ill. The Lions shot an 850 (278, 285, 287) as a team across the three-round tournament. The Lions finished one shot back of
OVERVIEW
Lindenwood opened the tournament with its best team round on the scorecard, shooting a 278.
Liam Bentein and
Juan Ballester each carded 69's aided by six birdies during the opening round of play.
Gabriel Lindahl and
Matthew Frith both came in under par in round one, shooting a one-under 70.
The Lions kept up the strong play heading into round two, earning a 285 combined score. Lindahl and Frith led the way, each shooting a 70 during the second 18 holes. Lindahl finished with a bogey-free back nine closed out by an eagle on 18. The Sweden native finished the tournament with two eagles, tied for the most in the field.

Lindenwood shot a 287 during the final round, again paced by Lindahl who eagle8Â 18 for the second-consecutive round. Frith carded a 71 during the last 18, while Ballester was just behind him, shooting a 72.
