The Lindenwood men's golf team had a strong showing at the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate in Springfield, Mo. this week. The Lions finished tied for sixth and compiled a team score of 853.
OVERVIEW
The Lions opened the tournament with a team score of 285, which slotted them into fourth place, just four shots back of the lead.
Liam Bentein carded a first round 70, which consisted of 15 pars, and that number led the field.
Juan Ballester and
Tyler May came in just behind him with an even par 71. May paced the team with four birdies during his round, three of which came on the back nine. All three golfers slotted inside the top 15 after round one.
Lindenwood carded a 285 once again in round two led by May and Ballester who shot a two-under 69. May paced the Lions with five birdies across the second 18. As an Individual,
Renato Filho fired an even par 71, using 15 pars to get there.
Gabriel Lindahl and Bentein registered a 73 and 74, respectively.
The black and gold saved its best round for last, firing a 283, led by Bentein's 67. The native of Belgium went three-under on the back nine. Coming in just behind him was
Matthew Frith who finished with a two-under 69. Lindahl was consistent all tournament, carding his third-consecutive 73. Overall, Lindenwood led the field in par 4 scoring at 4.09 and finished with the most pars in the tournament at 65.
