The 2008 men's wrestling team was the fourth NAIA National Championship squad for the powerhouse Lindenwood program but made school history by becoming the first team to repeat as national champions. The Lions were underdogs entering the national championships but led throughout the event. Lindenwood needed one victory in the final session to clinch the national title, and it came away with three individual national championships. The Lions finished with 130 points and won the title by 21.5 points. Five wrestlers earned All-American honors, four advanced to the finals, and Raymond Stephens (133), Ryan Moyer (149), and Matt Cauley (174) all earned individual national championships. Joe Parisi was the head coach of the team and earned National Coach of the Year honors after the national championship event.
