Lindenwood Sports Hall of Fame
Courtney Thompson (formerly Austin) was one of the top scorers and rebounders in Lindenwood women’s basketball history. She was a four-year starter from 1986-90 and averaged 13.9 points and 8.9 rebounds a game. She still holds the school record with a career field goal percentage of .624, ranks second in career rebounding and third in career scoring. Thompson helped the Lady Lions women’s basketball program back to respectability and set the table for future national tournament teams. She led Lindenwood to capturing a mid-season Show-Me Collegiate Conference tournament title, one of the biggest victories in program history at that point. She was also a first-team all-conference selection and a conference player of the year.
