The 2009 men's volleyball team won the NAIA National Invitational Tournament Championship. The Lions were 11-3 after back-to-back losses to California Baptist, but they would go on to win their final 26 matches of the season. Lindenwood won the MAMVIC regular season and tournament championships. At the national tournament, the Lions won their pool play with wins over Park and Hope International and then defeated Cardinal Stritch in the semifinals. In the championship match, the team faced off against California Baptist, and Lindenwood won by scores of 30-20, 30-28, and 30-27.
 
Lindenwood men's volleyball had an overall record of 37-3 that season. Head coach of the team was Ron Young.
