The Lady Lions ice hockey team won the second ACHA National Championship in program history in 2008 and finished the season with one of its best winning percentages. Lindenwood finished the season with a 36-3-0 record, and won 26 of 27 final games. The Lady Lions scored over seven goals a game and allowed just 1.0 goal a contest. At the national championships, the Lady Lions outscored their opponents 24-1 in pool play and then defeated Michigan State and Massachusetts to reach the finals. Its only close game at nationals came in the finals, but Lindenwood earned a 2-1 win over rival Robert Morris for the championship.

Vince O'Mara was the head coach of the 2007-08 women's hockey team.
