Lindenwood Sports Hall of Fame
The 2009 Lindenwood football team was the most successful team in program history when it advanced to the NAIA National Championship game. The Lions dominated their regular season slate with a perfect 10-0 record in HAAC play. Lindenwood scored over 40 points in every regular-season game and allowed 14 or fewer points in half of the games. The Lions opened the postseason with home wins over Langston and Ottawa and then had one of the signature victories in school history with a 42-35 victory over Carroll in the NAIA semifinals. The game was played in a snowstorm in Helena, Mont., and wasn't decided until a Lions touchdown with 55 seconds remaining. After a close loss in the national title game, Lindenwood finished the season with a 13-1 record. The 2009 Lions were coached by Patrick Ross.
